Sometimes being an artist is feeling like a baker seeing a chemist making the deadliest liquid in the world and wishing you could make the deadliest liquid as well but you’re a baker, not a chemist, and then you feel like your bread is worthless
If it helps, as a writer with artist friends often feels like being a chemist surrounded by bakers. I’ll spend ages coming up with a hypothesis and then lock myself away for weeks or months only to emerge with a small vial of glowing liquid. Yes it took a lot of work, and yes I’m proud that I’ve created it, but it pales when I look across at the bakers. In the same time, they’ve made so many delicious things that make living a delight. Chances are they’ve fed me and kept me from despair while I was locked in my lab. And I envy their wonderful craft.

Hey guys, been MIA from the phandom bc I’ve been indulging in the OC community on a side account. Makes me realize I only have like…two developed OCs that I can actually do stuff with.
Makes me realize I really need to start working on my original projects again.

Valid and wholesome boomer representation. More of this please.

Christine and Erik doodles :3
I just love @klausscrimshaw ‘s version of them
This is a scene that Leroux neglected to mention in his book—It’s when Erik has to carry an unconscious Daroga from his underground lair to a carriage and then escort him back to his flat.
I suppose what I like about this scene is that it’s a reversal of sorts. Erik usually kidnaps people (i.e. Christine) to his underground lair for selfish reasons, but now that Christine has transformed him, he’s transporting his friend above ground for a good reason.

Siren Erik for Mermay 😊
He lures people who venture too far into the underground lake with his mesmerizing singing voice. The Daroga found him at a freak show when he was young and took him to the Shah who built him a tank of mirrors where all his enemies ended up in for Erik to feed on and play with. Nadir later rescues him and hides him in Paris. 🤔

This is what I’m talking about when I say “You don’t really want a pet wolf, they already make a wolf you can keep in your house and it’s called a dog.”
Or a Northern Inuit Dog! They were bred specifically to look like wolves but still be companion dogs. They even make great therapy dogs.
